Itinerary and highlights

Guests are invited onto the Main Altar, entering a part of St. Patrick’s that few ever experience firsthand. From this privileged position, guests turn back toward Fifth Avenue for a spectacular view of the Cathedral's great Rose Window—seen from the sanctuary and framed by the soaring Gothic interior.

Then the tour goes completely behind the scenes.

From the sanctuary, guests descend into the private areas beneath the Main Altar, exploring spaces normally closed to the public and discovering another side of the Cathedral entirely.

The experience continues into the Sacristy and Sacristy Chapel, sacred working spaces at the heart of Cathedral life. Here, guests encounter some of the Cathedral's historic glass and gain an intimate perspective on how St. Patrick’s functions beyond the public nave.

It is a remarkable progression:

From the stained glass…
to the Main Altar…
behind the velvet ropes…
beneath the sanctuary…
and into the private heart of St. Patrick’s Cathedral.
